A National Catalog, Activated One Qualified Program at a Time

A listing in the national catalog is permission to plan, not permission to enroll. Each program has to be activated for a specific campus and market. Activation requires documented employer demand, a qualified program chair and instructors, the correct laboratory or shop, equipment and consumables, insurance, applicable state or professional approvals, a complete curriculum, assessment standards, student disclosures, and a budget that can carry the full cohort.

That distinction lets the institution plan nationally without pretending every course exists everywhere. A campus page will show only programs that have passed activation review, along with their actual status, delivery format, planning length, credential target, laboratory requirements, instructor standard, and intended career outcomes. Programs that remain in the master catalog but are not active stay clearly labeled as planning options.
